Teucrium, the company that brought you the Teucrium Corn Fund (CORN) last year, introduced three new single agricultural commodity exchange-traded products earlier this week.  Teucrium Soybean Fund (SOYB), Teucrium Sugar Fund (CANE), and Teucrium Wheat Fund (WEAT) began trading on Monday (9/19/11).

All three funds hold quarterly futures contracts in the underlying commodities.  The ETFs spread contracts across three different expiration dates that cover up to two years in length.  Each fund carries a 1.00% expense ratio, and the company press release provides additional background.

Teucrium Soybean Fund (SOYB) holds Chicago Board of Trade (“CBOT”) Soybean Futures Contracts: the second-to-expire contract, weighted 35%, the third-to-expire, weighted 30%, and the contract expiring in the November following the expiration month of the third-to-expire contract, weighted 35%.  Additional information is on the home page and in the SOYB prospectus (pdf).

Teucrium Sugar Fund (CANE) holds Intercontinental Exchange (“ICE”) Sugar No. 11 Futures Contracts: the second-to-expire, weighted 35%, the third-to-expire, weighted 30%, and the contract expiring in the March following the expiration month of the third-to-expire contract, weighted 35%.  Additional information is on the home page and in the CANE prospectus (pdf).

Teucrium Wheat Fund (WEAT) holds CBOT Wheat Futures Contracts: the second-to-expire, weighted 35%, the third-to-expire, weighted 30%, and the contract expiring in the December following the expiration month of the third-to-expire contract, weighted 35%.  Additional information is on the home page and in the WEAT prospectus (pdf).
